Winter 2015-2016 Withdrawal Schedule

Cancellation of Registration

A student who enrolls in a Winter session course and later decides not to attend the class may cancel registration before the first day of instruction for the session.  A 100% refund of tuition will be generated if cancellation is requested by the deadline. The easiest way to cancel registration is via Student Self-Service.  Select the Cancel Registration option on the Registration Menu then respond to the verification prompts.  That action will generate an email to Registration Services who will remove your Winter class within 1 business day.

Deadline to cancel for Winter 2015-2016: Sunday, December 20, 2015 11:59 PM CST

Dropping your only Winter class

For the Winter session only, you can drop your last class yourself via Student Self-Service through January 3, 2016 11:59 CST.  A pro-rata refund of the tuition will be applied to your account based on the following rate.  Beginning January 4, 2016, campus college offices will be open again after the holidays, so you will need to contact your undergraduate college office to request their assistance to drop a winter class.

  • December 20, 2015, 100% and no ‘W’ grade
  • December 21-25, 2015, 80% and no ‘W’ grade
  • December 26 – January 1, 2016, 60% and no ‘W’ grade
  • January 2-3, 2016, 40% and no ‘W’ grade
  • January 4-8, 2016, 40% refund, ‘W’ grade recorded and requires college office assistance
  • No refund is available after January 8, 2016

If you make no payment, and drop your Winter class after the first day of instruction for the session, you are liable for the full amount of tuition originally assessed less applicable refunds.

You can drop your only Winter class using the existing Student Self-Service Add/Drop Classes option by following instructions provided on the Add/Drop Classes web page.  Basically you need to add a placeholder CRN #10001, Winter Drop Course, while dropping the actual class.  Following the steps provided on the Add/Drop Classes screen in Student Self-Service will result in dropping the real class and generating applicable refund, but the Winter Drop Course will remain on your schedule.

We also have a new Enhanced Registration application that can be used for Winter 2015-2016.  Choosing that option from the Registration Menu in Student Self-Service will direct you to the new class registration system.  Choose Register for Classes.  The screens will look and act differently, but you might prefer this enhanced version.  The greatest benefit is that you can drop the only Winter class without having to add the placeholder CRN, so your winter schedule will be completely clear after you complete a drop request by the deadline.
