Established in 1988, the twenty-five member DARwin User Group (DUG) represents eight different colleges on campus. The DUG has three primary roles:
- promote the use of DARwin on campus
- serve as an environment for members to share DARwin encoding ideas, problems and solutions
- make policy recommendations to the DARwin Policy Committee
